There are milestones in cricket that deserve to be celebrated, and then there are milestones that represent a lifetime of commitment to a club.

Jason Crisp reaching 400 games for the Morphettville Park Cricket Club is certainly the latter.

Jason first joined MPCC in 1987, beginning an association with the Roos that has now spanned almost four decades. Across those years, he has established himself as one of the club's great players and most dedicated servants.

His contribution to MPCC was formally recognised with Life Membership in 2002, but his achievements on the field tell an incredible story of their own.

Across his career, Jason has amassed 9,053 runs, including a highest score of 175 not out, 6 centuries and 46 half-centuries.

And he certainly hasn't just been a batsman.

With more than 2,481 overs bowled, Jason has taken an outstanding 450 wickets, including 12 five-wicket hauls and career-best figures of 6/44. Add another 172 catches, and you have one of the most complete playing records in MPCC history.

His individual honours include the Geoff Hardy Medal in 2003, Cricketer of the Year in 2014 and the Tim Clark Medal in 2014.

A partnership worth more than 61 runs

For all the runs, wickets, catches, awards and milestones Jason has accumulated, one recent moment perhaps captures what playing 400 games for a community cricket club is really all about.

Jason had the opportunity to walk to the crease and bat alongside his son.

Together, father and son put on a brilliant 61-run partnership, with Jason finishing unbeaten on 45 not out.

After joining the club in 1987, to still be wearing the MPCC colours nearly four decades later is remarkable enough. To then stand in the middle and build a partnership alongside your own son is the type of cricketing memory that statistics can't properly measure.

It's a moment that represents generations of the Crisp family and everything community cricket is about.

An MPCC Club Champion

400 games.9,053 runs.450 wickets.172 catches.6 centuries.46 half-centuries.12 five-wicket hauls.

Behind every one of those numbers are Saturdays at the cricket, teammates, victories, tough losses, friendships and countless hours representing Morphettville Park.

Reaching 400 games is an extraordinary achievement and a testament to Jason's longevity, loyalty and contribution to the Roos.

From everyone at Morphettville Park Cricket Club, congratulations to Life Member and Club Champion Jason Crisp on 400 games.

A remarkable career. A remarkable contribution. And forever a Roo.
